India-While not as devastating as its light-duty bus counterpart, the light truck market (7.5t gvw and below) fell by 77.7% to 26,373 units in the first quarter of 2020-21 compared with 118,058 units in same quarter of 2019-20. Production of LCV goods carriers fell by 83.7% to 26,373 from 118,053 units, while export sales fell by 61.6% to 2,419 units in the Q1 of 2020-21 from 6,294 units in Q1 of 2019-20. The lightest truck segment (GVW ≤ 2t) witnessed a sales fall of 84.7% to 7,117 units in Q1 of 2020- 21 from 46,535 units in Q1 of 2019-20. Production decreased by 86.8% and export sales dropped by 84.2%.
