MKT: Statistics-Rigid Trucks: Rigid truck sales fall by more than 90%

India-Sales of medium- and heavy-duty rigid trucks (7.5t gvw and above) in India fell by 93.2% in Q1 of 2020-21 to 3,897 units from 57,597 units in the same quarter of year 2019-20. Export of rigid trucks fell by 65.5% to 1,018 units in Q1 of 2020-21 from 2,952 units in the same quarter of the year 2019- 20. Production of the rigid trucks also fell sharply by 91.7% to 5,748 units in Q1 of 2020-21 from 69,596 units in the Q1 of the year 2019-20. Domestic sales of medium-duty rigid trucks (7.5t to 12 tons) decreased by 95.8% to 575 units in Q1 of 2020-21 from 13,663 units in Q1 of 2019-20. Export and production fell by 62.1% to 314 (829) and by 87.1% to 1,593 (12,336), respectively.
