MKT: Statistics-Rigid Trucks: Annual truck sales down 44% in 2019/20

India-Domestic sales of medium- and heavy-duty rigid trucks (7.5 tons gvw and above) fell by 44.1% to 156,585 units in April 2019 to March 2020, down from 280,139 units in the same period of 2018-19. Export sales declined by 63.22% from 38,093 units in the year 2018-19 to 14,010 units in the year 2019-20. The total number of medium and heavy rigid trucks built also decreased from 325,857 units in 2018-19 to 164,877 units in 2018- 19, a fall of 49.40%, reflecting the sales trend.
