Chennai/UK-Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai, a subsidiary and flagship company of the Hinduja Group has announced its UK subsidiary, Optare Plc of Shurton-in-Elmet is to supply the Tower Transit Group with 37 Metrodecker double deck EVs for the launch of two new electric routes in London, which will be Tower Transit's first battery electric operations. Tower Transit's order is the third major contract for the Optare Metrodecker EV in just over a year, and the second order for the UK capital.
