The invention concerns an electric distributor system to be situated in a patients room in a hospital or clinic and the distributor system is designed for a high degree of safety. All electric equipment and lighting used in this sleeping room and the adjoining areas such as the wash room, toilet, landing and corridor are to be supplied with electricity from this distributor. The main contacts (24) are made and broken within the distributor box (9) so that any flashing or arcing is confined to this box. There are large numbers of subsidiary contacts which provide current to a variety of electric equipment and lighting installations required in the patients room.
