Traffic delays following an incident could reduce by more than half if all vehicles in a highway network are connected or autonomous, says Monika Crouse. It is widely accepted that Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) promise to make our road networks run more efficiently in future years. But a new study focuses on the time savings that could be achieved when an incident occurs and where there are a mix of vehicle types on the network.
