摘要

Impacts of Covid-19 could act as a catalyst to accelerate long needed change in urban centres, but Government must first step up devolution of powers over infrastructure investment, a webinar heard. The Centre for Cities event saw the launch of new National Infrastructure Commission guidance on developing local strategies to underpin improvements in transport, housing and other policy areas. But the Commissions chair Sir John Armitt emphasised that further devolution and multi year funding settlements for transport are also needed to help cities plan for the future, especially in light of the pandemic.
