Along time ago, I met John Haller.He was a lifetime tree man andnotable author in his early eighties, almost 50 years my senior. He still climbed trees in his eighties. I met him at a meeting of the American Society of Consulting Arborists in Aspen, Colorado. I think it was in 1994 -1 am not absolutely sure of the year. There was no snow, which disappointed so many but revealed a fascinating glimpse of high-altitude species and landscape trees in late-fall color. I was enjoying a break by the burbling brook behind the conference rooms when I noticed an older guy taking photos with great care.
