MELBOURNE 2010: Iluka Heralds the End of Multi-Year Contracts

Twelve months on from the Mildura event, the 12th Informa Mineral Sands Conference was convened in Melbourne. This conference became famous because it provided the platform from which Iluka gave notice that the era of multi-year contracts, with prices ratcheted up slowly in line with general inflation indices, was about to come to an abrupt end. Speaking at the Deember 2010 Informa Conference in Melbourne, Dr Rob Porter (of Iluka) said: "We have insufficient feedstock to meet all our customers' requirements in 2011.
