CHEMOURS: Faces New Wave of Lawsuits Stemming from Fluoroproducts Waste

Towards the end of July 2017, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority and the Civitas Institute (a non-profit public policy lobbyist group) declared their intention to file lawsuits against Chemours, alleging contamination of public drinking water supplies. These actions were sparked off by a paper presented by Mr Jason Galloway at a conference at Northeastern University (Boston) in mid-June, in which he disclosed his findings of perfluoro compounds in waterways in North Carolina and referred to earlier research data published by Dr Detlef Knappe.
