Historically, Kronos was selling large quantities of ilmenite as feedstock for the Pori pigment plant in Finland and for the ilmenite smelter at Tyssedal in northwestern Norway. However, those sales have now ceased. Ferrous and ferric sulfates and chlorides, generated as co-products at Kronos pigment plants, are marketed by the company's Ecochem business unit for use in making water treatment chemicals, iron oxide pigments, concrete additives and agrochemicals.
