Variety Release CommitteeChairman Chris Mattingly calledT a meeting of the committee on April 8, 2020 to discuss the release of Ho 13-739 for commercial production. Due to the health regulations to mitigate novel coronavirus spread, the committee met via conference call. The committee, composed of representative researchers from Louisiana State University, United States Department of Agriculture and the American Sugar Cane League reviewed all available data on the candidate variety. After a comprehensive discussion, it was unanimously decided that Ho 13-739will be released to the Louisiana sugarcane industry for commercial production.
