German Switch Committee Meets: Sumatriptan Goes Again, Antihistamine Reverse-Switch Rejected, For Now

At its meeting last week Germany’s Expert Committee for Prescription recommended the prescription-to-OTC switches of sumatriptan and liquid ibuprofen, but rejected an OTC switch application for ketoprofen and a reverse switch of sedative antihistamines for over 65s. OTC sumatriptan (50mg) for oral use once again got the green light at last week’s Expert Committee for Prescription meeting, ac- cording to brief minutes of the meeting.
