Cosmetics companies’ current obligation to report fra- grance chemicals of concern to California health ofcials under the Safe Cosmetics Act would expand under a pro- posed bill on its way to a Senate foor vote. The Cosmetic Fragrance and Flavor Ingredient Right to Know Act of 2019, SB 574, would not require full disclosure of fragrance formulae, only those ingredients identifed on designated lists, including and beyond lists that dictate chemical reporting in the state’s Safe Cosmetics Program.
