T he Coppertone sunscreen and Dr. Scholl’s foot care brands are not good fts in the product portfolio Bayer AG built as it planned to become the global consumer health care market leader, says the German frm. Bayer on Nov. 29 said it is pulling the plug on its attempts to revive Coppertone and Dr. Scholl’s sales and plans to sell both in 2019 to focus on “core categories” of its consumer health portfolio such as Aleve (naproxen) oral analgesics, Claritin (lorata- dine) allergy treatments and the iconic Bayer Aspirin.
