2017 is set to be a momentous year for the Trent 1000 TEN. Flight testing on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is underway and the team behind the engine is looking forward to achieving entry into service for the engine before this year is out. Before that, Boeing is set to fly the latest version of the 787 family, the 787-10, in 2017 and it will take off powered by two Trent 1000 TEN engines. That will be a hat-trick for the Rolls-Royce programme as each version of the 787 (the 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10) Will have made its maiden flight with Trent 1000 power.
