For thirty years, Australia's World Solar Challenge event has provided a remarkable innovation focal point devoted to literally driving humanity towards a more sustainable future. While you could be forgiven for thinking it is all about the ability to generate and utilise solar energy, the 2017 event also saw the debut of a sustainable solution for a very different sector thanks to a special, three-way collaboration involving Covestro - one of the largest global polymer companies, PPG - the world's number one producer of transportation coatings and RWTH Aachen University in Germany.
