Chinese pesticide industry up 16% in first half

China's pesticide manufacturing industry saw all-round growth in the first half of 2013. Production during the first six months was up 15.7% year-on-year to Yuan 178,860 million ($28,956 million at the current rate). The figures are collated by China's National Bureau of Statistics from some 827 manufacturers, and are reported by the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). Sales were up 19.8% in the first half to Yuan 135,650 million ($21,960 million). China's pesticide industry raised output by 24.4% in 2012, to a value of some Yuan 244,000 million ($39,501 million-Agrow No 660, p 23).
