STIHL'S EMISSIONS COMPLIANT TOP-HANDLE CHAINSAWS

With stricter emission controls on the horizon in Europe, STIHL decided to take a closer look at all of their machines that had a small buffer to the emissions limits. With regards to the petrol top-handled chainsaws, it was going to be a challenge to maintain the important characteristics needed for an arborist's chainsaw, namely responsiveness of the chainsaw and achieving maximum power when the motor is still relatively cold. With many competitors not being able to afford investment in research and development to revise their models to comply with new emission standards, STIHL has made improvements to existing petrol-powered, top-handled chainsaws to ensure they do.
