The production value of technical parts made of plastic in the EU-27 declined by 1.4% in 2012 compared with the previous year. The total turnover of EUR 29.7 bn documented by Eu-rostat corresponds - almost down to the last decimal - to the level reached in the last pre-crisis year of 2007, which was briefly exceeded in 2011. Even though the figure may have remained nearly the same, there were significant changes in both regional and structural terms. An analysis reveals that the profile of the plastics processing supplier industry has changed considerably compared with the pre-crisis period.
