EU green lights takeover of Lotte Chemical UK

The European Commission has given the approval for the acquisition of sole control over Lotte (Seoul / South Korea; www.lotte.co.kr) subsidiary Lotte Chemical UK (Wilton; www. lottechemical.co.uk) by DAK Americas Exterior, a Spain-based branch of Alpek (Mexico City / Mexico; www.alpek. com). Alpek recently signed the agreement to buy Lotte's PET plants in Wilton. It is the first time the North American market leader and the world's number two in PET production is to have a production footprint in Europe.
