Rochling Engineering Plascics recently added Sustamid~R 6 FR, a lightweight, flame-resistant extruded polyamide 6 nylon, to their North American product line-up. Sustamid 6 FR sheets and rods have a very high LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) of 40% and are halogen-free. This high-strength, rigid nylon is best used in applications with high demands for both flame and wear resistance like cable clamps and wear guides for the aerospace, rail car, shipbuilding and mining industries. The new material meets specifications for rail and aerospace, including but not limited to, NFPA130 and the new European Rail Vehicle Standard DIN EN 45545-2:2013.
