In the present paper the results of catalytic properties of aluminium oxides formed at high temperature during oxidation of thin foil of FeCrAl steel are shown. The oxidation processes of FeCrAl steel were carried out in air and SO_2+1.0 percent O_2 gas mixtures under atmospheric pressure. The oxidation processes were carried out at 1093 K in SO_2/O_2 gas mixture and at 1473 K in air. Experimental results of catalytic activity of the scale surface made by pulse technique within the range of temperature from 453 to 673 K. A reactor connected "on line" with a gas chromatograph was injected with 1.0 mu l of 2-methylol-3-butyn-2-ol. The conversion of raw material and the ratio of reaction rates catalyzed by acidic and basic sites were determined on the basis of the product contents. A comparison test of 2-methylol-3-butyn-2-ol conversion was carried out on a set of foils that were not subject to oxidation.
