BIO-EFFICACY OF M1LASTIN-K (Bacillus subtilis KTSB 1015 1.5% A.S) AND CHEMICALS FOR MANAGEMENT OF BACTERIAL BLIGHT (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae) AND CERCOSPORA FRUIT SPOT DISEASES ON POMEGRANATE UNDER FIELD CONDITIONS

A field experiment was conducted during 2016-17 for evaluation of bio-efficacy of Milastin-K (Bacillus subtilis KTSB 10151.5% A.S) for the management of bacterial blight (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae) and Cercospora fruit spot on pomegranate atUniversity of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, Karnataka. Results compiled revealed that Milastin-K alone @ 1.0 ml/L and 2.0 ml/L sprayings gave about 54.62% and 60.81% reduction in bacterial blight (on leaves) and 50.00% and 58.74% reduction (on fruits) and 40.23% and 49.89% reduction in Cercospora fruit spot over control treatment respectively. Similarly, the test formulation Milastin-K alone @ 2.0 ml/L and as a follow up spray subsequent at one week after spray of Streptocycline @ 0.25 g/L + Copperoxychloride 50 WP @ 1.0 g/L, Mancozeb 75 WP @ 10 g/L and Thiophanate Methyl 70 WP @ 0.5 g/L may be used as one of the component in Integrated Disease Management schedule for the management of bacterial blight and Cercospora fruit spot disease of pomegranate. Likewise, spraying of Milastin-K did not show any phyto-toxic effect on pomegranate plants.
