Ofshore drilling contractors have struggled to restore proftability this year as the overcrowded rig market continues to reel from the efects of the 2014-16 oil price slump. But higher crude prices, a nascent recovery in ofshore drilling activity and much-needed consolidation among rig owners point to better times ahead.
