UK energy firm BG’s managing director of exploration and production in Europe, Andy Samuel, will become the first chief executive of the UK’s new Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) in January. The OGA, which will be formally established as an executive agency in April, is tasked with maximising economic recovery of the UK’s oil and gas resources (WPA, 3 October, p10).
