The following is a project-based unit developed to provide students with hands-on experiences that reinforce their understanding of Newton's three laws of motion. It was developed by a group of preservice students who were asked by a middle school teacher to design a project-based instructional (PBI) unit that connected Newton's laws to work, acceleration, and force calculations. The preservice students assisted during the piloting of the PBI unit at the middle school, but it can also be managed by a single classroom teacher.
