DATABASE WILL LOG CDL DRUG AND ALCOHOL DRIVER VIOLATIONS

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will launch a drug and alcohol clearinghouse meant to improve road safety in January 2020. The secure online database will provide real-time information about commercial driver's license holders' drug and alcohol violations, such as positive drug or alcohol test results or test refusals. It will also record when a driver completes the return-to-duty process. The clearinghouse will contain only violations that occurred on or after Jan. 4, 2020, FMCSA says.
