Meetings. Almost everyone bashes them as time wasting and ineffective but the corporate world would stall without getting people together. Sure, there are needless ones, but meetings are the main way of making group decisions, especially at a board or committee level. Although meeting transparency is normally desirable, there are times when a veil is needed. If an audience or certain participants need to be excluded, an in camera meeting is usually the tool.
