摘要

The Better Regulation Delivery Office at BIS, the UK Government Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, has published an overview of current thinking on how regulation affects corporate behaviour.1 Touching on the likes of food and product safety as well as environmental protection and giving consideration to both legal and socio-economic studies, the overview was authored by a notable commentator on EU product regulation – Christopher Hodges, an Oxford Professor of Justice Systems. Intended as reading for government and enforcement officials with an interest in enhancing regulatory delivery, it is quite possible that some of the principles discussed in the outline will become future regulatory practice in the UK as well as among neighbouring nations within Western Europe. As such, the outline is also likely to be of interest to businesses on the receiving end of regulation, inclusive of product regulation like GPSD, LVD, EMC, ecodesign, RoHS, REACH and WEEE.
