B.C. wants share of proposed oil pipeline royalties

British Columbia would require a "fair share" of the fiscal and economic benefits of a proposed heavy oil project before it would consider supporting the construction and operation of heavy oil pipelines within its borders, the government said in July. The money would have to reflect the level, degree and nature of the risk borne by the province, the environment and taxpayers, it said.
