BG backs Nappamerri shale search

Drillsearch Energy has kicked its unconventional hydrocarbon hunt into top gear by signing up BG Group to help fund a five-year, $1 30 million joint venture to assess the potential of ATP 940P in Queensland's Cooper Basin. The block covers most of the eastern extent of the Nappamerri Trough, on trend from Breach Energy's record breaking Holdfast-1 well. The partners have planned a three-stage exploration, appraisal and pilot program for the 2,000 square kilometre permit, and potentially opens up a path for unconventional or tight gas resources directly to the Queensland Curtis LNG project in Gladstone.
