Total nabs larger Ichthys stake

France's Total has increased its investment in the $34 billion dollar Ichthys LNG project to 30% by securing an additional 6% from operator Inpex. The acquisition does not impact any of the LNG offtake agreements as the entire annual production of 8.4 million tonnes per annum had already been sold for 15 years to Japanese gas buyers, and Total, which will purchase 900,000 tonnes per year directly.
