The relationship between the textural characteristics of carbon supports and the bioactivity of support-based bioproducts, impregnated with silver nanoparticle clusters, was investigated. A comprehensive physicochemical studies of two different carbon sorbents, used as supports using the technology for obtaining promising biological products of cluster (zero-valent) silver, were performed. The low-temperature (77 K) nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms on the surface of the supports were measured and the texture characteristics of the sorbent porous structure were determined using various adsorption methods (Langmuir, BET, Horwath–Kavazoe, t-Plot). The morphological characteristics of the sorbents, including the size and topography of the cluster of silver particles on their surface were studied using transmission electron microscopy. The relationship between the textural characteristics of carbon substrates and the ability of biological products of cluster silver based on these substrates to suppress bacterial microflora was established. Using these results, an approach to the selection of the optimal carbon substrate for creating bioactive cluster silver preparations was substantiated.
