Exercise During Pregnancy and Risk of Preterm Birth in Overweight and Obese Women: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Maternal overweight and obesity are associated withmaternal complications, as well as adverse fetal outcomes. These risks may be reduced by diet, exercise, and behavior changes. There have been conflicting results from studies examining an association between overweight or obesity and preterm birth (PTB) and an association between exercise and risk of PTB in overweight and obese women. This systematic review examines the relationship between exercise and PTB in overweight and obese women.
