摘要

Followeing widespread resistance of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), to insecticides there has in recent years been considerable global interest, also in South Africa, n the biological control of this notorious pest of cruciferous crops (Waladde et al. 2001). Formerly widely known as P. maculipennis (Curtis), its occurrence in South Africa is of particular significance because of the rich and diverse complex of parasitoids that is associated with this moth in this part of the African continent (Kfir 1997, 1998).
