The frst orders of new very large gas carriers (VLGCs) ftted with dual-fuel LPG engines last year refected the pressure on shipowners to comply with stricter sulphur emission rules. But they could also mark LPG's emergence as a leading alternative to more polluting marine fuels for shipowners in the coming years.
