摘要

The last sailing fleet of commercial fishing boats in the United States — the Chesapeake Bay skipjacks — dates back to the late 1800s and hails from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Known as the "two-sail bateau." thanks to its distinctive style, theskipjack, with it's V-shaped hull and dual sails, was designed to be powerful in light winds but also have the ability to access the shoal waters of the Chesapeake and its tributaries.
