Offering of 4,131.88 acres scheduled to be available at May 7 lease auction of state-owned oil and gas rights

LANSING, Mich. -Small acreage offerings in nine Lower Peninsula Michigan counties will be available at the upcoming May 7,2019 oral-bid auction sale of oil and gas lease rights to state of Michigan-owned minerals to be conducted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) Office of Minerals Management (OMM) at the Lansing Center. The total offering of 4,131.88 acres is comparable in size to the first auction sale of 2018, when just over 4,600 acres were offered. Only 1,849.78 acres were offered at the May 2017 state lease auction, which was the smallest offering in decades.
