Populous designed the 432,949-square-foot Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Fla., with several metal applications. Insulated metal panels (IMPs) were used to break up a multistory fagade on the west side of the stadium, where they enclose the club and press levels, team offices, press box and suites. Canopies provide shading and reflect crowd noise to the pitch. Perforated metal on the scoreboard allows wind through and creates the Orlando City Soccer Club's logo. Additionally, metal panels respond to the context of surrounding architecture, some of which has metal panels in similar colors.
