Japan JV Gives Saint-Gobain Renforcement New Strategic Growth Prospects

Saint-Gobain has concluded a strategic alliance with Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) to produce, sell and distribute glass fiber in a more efficient and cost-effective way. The Saint-Gobain Group holds 60 percent of this new joint venture, NSG Vetrotex KK (NSGV). NSGV is based in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, near Nagoya and keeps the production equipment of NSG to manufacture 40,000 tonnes (88.2 million lbs) of glass fiber reinforcements per year. Both the NSG teams in the Reinforcements business, and the Saint-Gobain Vetrotex teams in Japan have joined the newly formed company.
