If we've learned anything from today's fashion industry, it's that aesthetics are no longer the primary innovation driver. The term is now often coupled with 'function' to create whole new wearing experiences, In fact, Open Style Lab, a non-profit organisation based at Parsons School of Design, The New School, New York, considers the universal role of clothing as a social integration tool that is essential to an individual's ability to engage with the surrounding community. With this in mind, it has dedicated its research and development to creating innovative wearable solutions for people with disabilities.
