The Commission’s ethics officials applied the wrong analysis to 29 instances where ethics advice was requested about commissioners being required to recuse themselves from matters involving former employers or former clients, the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) said in a special report, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission: Review of Ethics-related Advice and Counseling Provided to Presidentially Appointed, Senate-confirmed Officials (Report No. 20-17LS).
