Growers urged to assess nodulation of pulse crops

Southern region grain growers are encouraged to assess nodulation of their legume crops post-sowing. Assessment will help growers determine the effectiveness of their pulse inoculation programs and what strategies may be required to overcome soil constraints.Sowing into dry soil profiles in many parts of the southern region may have presented challenges for growers this year in terms of achieving adequate nodulation and nitrogen fixation from legumes.
