In this study, disease severities of two pepper varieties, PM 702 (CM334) and Kahramanmaras-Hot (KM-Hot), have been compared using 1x104 zoospores ml-1 as inoculum concentration of Phytophthora capsici L. (Kahramanmaras) isolate. On the sixth day, the resistant genotypes in CM334 were less than those in KM-Hot seedlings that are damage-sensitive. In the lower leaves of KM-Hot seedlings, to which P. capsici causing root rot and shoot blight was injected 24 and 26 kDa proteins were accumulated. When symptoms emerged, in KM-Hot lower, middle and upper stem parts 24, 26, 31 and 32 kDa proteins were detected, respectively. No pathogenesis-related (PR) protein accumulated in the leaves of CM334 seedlings infected by P. capsici. However, it was found that there were two proteins weighing 26 and 28 kDa in the middle bodies of the seedlings.
