In 1984, when Greg Julian was just a teenager, his father, Gary Julian, and Jeff Brownell founded Advanced Lubrication Specialties. Initially the company was little more than a broker of metalworking and industrial lubricants toll-blended by a variety of other ILMA member companies. Gary Julian and Jeff Brownell had been Sun Oil employ-ees caught in a downsizing, and Gary and Jeff, who had been in sales, relied on their contacts to help get Advanced Lubrication going.
