ETRMA hopes for tire market recovery after mixed first quarter

BELGIUM: Sales of passenger car tires fell 3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2019,according to figures published by the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’Association(ETRMA). Replacement volumes for consumer tires fell to 50.8 million units for the three months to 31 March,data from ETRMA member companies shows. Sales of replacement truck tires performed more strongly,posting an increase of 9% to 2.6 million units.
