North America Lubricant Specification Updeate

As the introduction of the next major specification update draws closer, major progress can be reported concerning the test readiness for both PC-11 and 1LSAC GF-6. The official first allowable use (FAU) for PC-11 is still scheduled for March 1,2017, but for OEMs to make use of the new specification this date probably needs to be advanced to at least Q4 2016. At this point in time marketers and additive companies will not commit to advancing the schedule as there are too many unknowns, including applicable base oil interchange and viscosity grade read across guidelines.
