PC-ll is now approved as two new categories — API CK-4 and API FA-4 — with a first license date of December 1, 2016. Some issues remain, but program efforts are well underway with the target of delivering on time to meet the needs of engine manufacturers. Test development continues to be hindered by obstacles, lengthening the test development timeframe for ILSAC GF-6, which means the first allowable use (FAU) date of April 1,2018 is at risk of slipping several more months.
