Over the past month,you've probably started to hear and read a lot about the 2008 Industrial Metalworking Environment:The Third Symposium on the Assessment and Control of Metal Removal Fluids.You'll be hearing and reading even more about it in the coming months.If you don't know what I'm talking about,look at the announcement on the facing page.Many of you will recall how the idea of this symposium came up in a SHERA meeting last year.Such an event has been held before(otherwise it wouldn't be the third,would it?).The previous ones,held in the 1990's,were sponsored and organized by the American Automobile Manufacturers Association(AAMA).ILMA's participation was limited to a cooperative role.This will be the first such symposium where ILMA will play a major role in organization and administration.In a sense,that's a tribute to how far the Association has come in the past few years.
